J.R. (Randy) Hardin was born in Rome, Georgia, attended Berry College, and has lived in either Georgia or North Carolina all his life. He currently resides with his son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Maranda, in Gainesville, Georgia.
J.R.’s career as an electrical transformer designer ended in 2001. When God called his wife Bobbie home, J.R. searched for something to fill his life. He began by taking a writing course from the Institute of Children’s Literature in 2007 and, with their guidance, found a love and passion for writing.
A true Southern writer, J.R.’s books are flavored with the unique characters and settings of the South. He has currently written three books in his Kudzu Monster series: The Kudzu Monsters, Kalvin the Kudzu Monster, and Kudzu Monsters Versus the Creeper Horde.
These three books were combined in The Kudzu Monster Trilogy, one of J.R.’s books with BQB.
His constant companion is a little Shih-Tzu named Koko. According to J.R., “I write when my little dog doesn’t need me for some chore.” J.R. has written two books about Koko: The Adventures of Little Dog Koko and The Further Adventures of Koko and Moochee.![]()
