Whispers in the Dark5 Stars. “WOW! I know people say, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Blah. I do it all the time, and this cover did not disapoint! What I didn’t realize was just how creeped out I was going to get. PLEASE READ THIS WITH THE LIGHTS ON!!!! Unless you are a horror junkie, in which case turn out the lights and get ready for a serious scare! I’m not a horror junkie but I am very glad I picked this book. The characters have a very real voice, you tend to feel as though you are a part of the story. Have fun Screaming at the book while you read it!”

5 Stars. “As soon as I read the description for this book I was intrigued, the cover drew me in and I wanted to know more. I read the book in one sitting taking just a few hours and I loved it. The book follows a young Teacher who has moved to work at a new school, staying in a house left to him by his grandmother who has passed away. It does have a few bump in the night moments and reminds me quite a bit of almost the Sixth Sense and the Craft in the way the story moves, I really enjoyed it.”

“I was not sure what to expect from this book since I have not read any by this author, but I was pleasantly surprised. I read half the book in one sitting and then the other half in another. The suspense of this book kept me wanting to know what was going on and how it would end. Very well written and this story does not drag out forever like some books I have read… I love the way that Chase kept you guessing and wondering how it was all going to end!!”

Chase J. Jackson takes us on a ride into the paranormal in this new YA thriller, ‘Whispers in the Dark.’ Adrian Ramirez has just landed the job of a lifetime as a teacher at the prestigious Finely Academy in rural Newnan, Georgia. Adrian and his girlfriend, Lea, have moved back to his hometown and are living in the old, musty home that he grew up in. A home left to him by his late grandmother. Lea is not happy living in the large, empty home, and she swears that she hears footsteps and voices, yet she can find no one or nothing. Adrian shrugs it off as the ‘settling of the old home.’

As he starts his new job, it is anything but ideal. On his first day, he meets his students, all who appear to be typical teenagers—except for two: a set of identical female twins. Both of whom are a bit Goth in appearance, and both who change the dynamic of the class. What follows is a gripping novel of the supernatural and paranormal. Terrifying instances begin to occur that seem to have no explanation, yet always seem to involve one or both of the twins. With ‘Whispers in the Dark,’ Jackson not only weaves a story that will keep you up late into the night, but more importantly, he reminds us that our pasts will always resurface and come back to haunt us.”

5 stars. “Exciting, strange and gripping, Whispers in the Dark, the name really suits the story. However the twists and turns in the story are unexpected you think one thing is about to happen but its different totally to what you expect. I found the characters really great… I really liked this book, it had a bit of everything you could wish for in a story, comical parts, sad parts, scary parts, yes definitely an excellent read. I will be watching for more Chase Jackson books in the future!!!!”

“This was a good creepy book that is weird from the very beginning. Action starts happening in the first chapter, making it a pretty fast paced book. Which is good because I finished it in no time at all and I never got bored…

All in all, I really liked this book and I am so glad I got to read it. It’s a great creepy paranormal book that I kind of wish I read in the daytime.”
