Check out this review for Gretta Parker’s touching The $7.50 Bunny That Changed The World.
This book, written by Gretta Parker, brought a tear to my eye and a knot in my throat as I read the last few pages out loud. Parker dedicates this book to her bunny, Flopsy, and goes into detail on how Flopsy changed her life and other peoples’ as well. From the moment they saw each other Parker was drawn to Flopsy. We have all heard of people who make Facebook pages for their dogs and cats, but Parker made one for Flopsy! The bunny inspired her to form a non-profit company based on adopting bunnies. She also inspired her to do many other things. You will say after finishing the book that Flopsy was more than just a pet; he was Parker’s son.
This type of inspiration is wonderful. I think that when you care about something so much, you will want to do all you can to let the world know how much you love this person or, in the case of Parker, animal. There are so many things in this world to inspire us. For example, I am inspired by the beautiful country of Ecuador. This country makes me want to write numerous stories about it and about my family that lives here. Parker also recounts the passing of Flopsy. It is always sad when someone considered part of the family dies, but I think that what made this story more heart-wrenching was the fact that the whole story was written from Flopsy’s point of view. That means we are in Flopsy’s head when he starts to get tired and finally never wakes up. But, there is a silver lining here. From Heaven, Flopsy becomes the Angel of Bunny Adoptions.
First of all, it should be illegal for anything to be this cute. What a heart warming little story. And people all over the world who have adopted rescue animals of any kind will be able to relate. We think we are rescuing them but more often than not, the opposite is true. We follow this little guy in his evolution from “Marshmallow ” to Flopsy as he finds a new home, a new Mom & acquires a sister. But he was also the inspiration for the author to undergo a little evolution herself by setting up a non-profit & a hugely popular Facebook page, thus helping bunnies all over the world. Not too shabby. The pictures in this short story are hilarious. Flopsy graciously gave of his time to pose & looks very James Bond-ish in his tux collar and bow tie. Obviously, he took his job as spokesbunny very seriously. This story is perfect for animal lovers, children of all ages or if you just need a smile on a bad day. It’s a gentle reminder that you don’t need something big or expensive to make your life better.

The $7.50 Bunny That Changed the World is a short book all about a rescue rabbit named Flopsy. The book is written from Flopsy’s point of view and tells the story of how he was abandoned at a shelter by his previous owners and later adopted by the book’s author Gretta Parker, who’s life he changed for the better. After Gretta bought home a computer and set up a Facebook page to raise awareness of rabbit adoption and shelters Flopsy played a huge part in helping the cause as a ‘spokesbunny’ proving just how rewarding becoming a rabbit owner can be. Alongside the story are beautiful photographs of this special little bunny who definitely seemed to enjoy posing for the camera!
As a bunny owner myself I couldn’t resist reading Flopsy’s story and I am pleased that there are people like Gretta trying to raise awareness for this cause.

Flopsy is a very special bunny that was given to a shelter and adopted by his Mom who then wrote this book. She realized that he was special and made him a facebook page and he became a spokesbunny for educating people to find out about their pets and their needs before adopting them. Flopsy got a little sister, Bella, and together they helped educate people. Then it was time for Flopsy to move on, his life here on earth was over. But he would continue working with his Mom who continued to rescue rabbits and help them transition. The story is told from the point of the view from Flopsy – though I’m sure he told his Mom what to type for him! 😉 A sweet story about an even sweeter bunny rabbit! It is a short story – but it will certainly warm your heart and make you think. I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review. I was not otherwise compensated.

If you love Bunnies, you will love this book. I love all cute and adorable animals, so I love this book. Also, I have a few people in my stream who adore bunnies so, well, it rubs off. This very short book is about Flopsy, the facebook famous bunny. Unfortunately, since I’ve never really followed Facebook famous people/animals, I have no idea if it’s true. But, from the pictures, he is a really really adorable bunny. So, to sum it up, this book is about Flopsy’s life, from his point of view. Interspersed are a lot of pictures of Flopsy. njoy this book? Of course! Cute animal pictures forever! But I would think that this isn’t really a book to read, it’s a book you buy so that you can coo over the pictures of adorable bunnies with long fluffy fur. Excuse me, I need to go and convince myself that I’m incapable of taking care of pets. Disclaimer: I got a free copy of this book from the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for a free and honest review.

Quite a sweet little book, with a charming story but seems to be aimed at children … not apparent from the blurb. However, the lovely photos and heartwarming story would make it a lovely gift for any bunny-lover of any age.
